Once a Marine...

We endeavor to join together all Marines, FMF Corpsman, Chaplains, their families, and the Collin County in comradery through carrying on the history and traditions of the Marine Corps as well as promoting good citizenship and democracy.

Taking Care of Our Own

We serve Marines, Navy FMF Corpsmen, Navy Chaplains, and their families by providing comradery, various forms of assistance in their times of need, supporting other organizations that provide assistance, and help make connections when additional support is needed.

We are proud to be able to support other local and national initiatives that support our military and veterans, and well as the extended military family.

Local Programs

The detachment runs several local programs that included our Scholarship Program, Toys For Tots, Eagle Scout Good Citizenship Award, and Marine for Life. We look forward to introducing more programs in the future.

Community Outreach

We host various events throughout the year, to include a Marine Corps Birthday Ball that is open to veterans and the public. We also attended community events/festivals throughout the county. Our detachment also involved with Chambers and Commerce and other community programs.

Our Detachment's Namesake

The Detachment’s name honors Lance Corporal JACOB D. HAYES, who was born in Plano, Texas, 28 July, 1984 and also lived in Allen.

As a United States Marine, Jacob, an 0311 (rifleman), served as a SAW-gunner (M249 Squad Automatic Weapon) also known as a light machine gun in combat in Iraq with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. Before shipping out for Iraq he was also trained as an Emergency Medical Technician. After being injured in Iraq he began to have seizures as a result of those injuries, which prevented him from doing his job and was given a medical discharge. On 17 December 2008, Jacob passed away as a result of those injuries. He was buried at Ridgeview Memorial Park with full Military Honors.

The LCpl Jacob D. Hayes Detachment #1426, Department of Texas, Marine Corps League was chartered on 18 May, 2015 in Plano, Texas. The detachment is registered with the State of Texas and the federal government as a nonprofit organization.
